Jennifer Johnson will present on Band Weaving. Jennifer is a local weaving teacher who is currently a member of Weaving Indiana.  She has taught classes at The Tabby Tree in Fishers, IN.  Her program will focus on various types of band looms and small rigid heddle looms used to create narrow woven bands for a variety of functions.

A movie night has been planned for our Monday April 18, 2022, meeting program. We will watch Sally Fox’s video on natural colored cottons and wools starting at 6:00, followed by a discussion of sustainability. Additionally, Sarah Noggle, a local fiber artist from Nashville, IN may join us for the discussion. Sarah sells Fox Fiber natural colored cotton. And, Sarah creates rugs and other woven items with upcycled materials. True sustainability.

Demonstration: Making Art Batts with Martha Foster

Art batts made on a blending board or drum carder are a great form of fiber for spinning or felting. Batts fluff and separate fibers, while giving the batt maker the opportunity to blend colors and materials to create a one-of-a-kind yarn or felted project. We are meeting in person at the Fiber Arts Store at the College Mall. This month is the annual de-stash auction. Doors will be open at 5:45 for those who are bringing in items to sell. Election of officers will be held at 6:30 p.m. and the auction will begin thereafter. Please bring clean plastic Kroger bags for the Thursday mat making group to use to crochet mats for those experiencing homelessness.
