The historic technique of hooking takes on contemporary flair in guild member Jean Haley's hands. After a brief business meeting, we will turn to Jean to learn about her design process, including how she prepares and hooks strips of fabric into cloth to create dynamic designs. Freeform Design on the Loom with Nancy Marsh

Imagine weaving freeform designs, like damask or brocade, using a 4-shaft loom, with no pick-up stick! Freeform twill involves a simple 1-2-3-4 threading and a unique treadling system, which facilitate the development of weaver-created, two-dimensional design patterns. Over the course of this two-day workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of freeform twill, design theory, how to make and use a cartoon, and several variations of the freeform twill technique. April Guild Meeting: The Mystique of Color

After a brief business meeting, weaver, author, and teacher Nancy Marsh will talk on "The Mystique of Color." In this, she will lead us through a light-hearted exploration into how we each relate to color, and have related to color all of our lives!  The Universal aspects of color are also shared, with relationship to colors chosen for weavings and for personal use and wearing.
