This will be an immersive class for the true beginner.
Class #1: Participants will learn about tools and yarn types and will start at the very beginning with a cast on. A few types of cast on techniques will be demonstrated and practiced. Following the cast on participants will learn the basic knit stitch (Garter) and knit a swatch (mug rug/coaster or dish cloth).
HOMEWORK: between class 1 and 2 will be to practice their cast on and knit stitch.
Class #2: Students will learn how to bind off their swatch and cast on again and learn the Purl stitch in combination with the knit stitch (Stockinette) and knit another swatch (mug rug/Coaster or dishcloth).
HOMEWORK between class 2 and 3 will be to practice their knit and purl stitches and bind off.
Class #3: Participants will cast on and use their knit and purl stitches and learn about increases (different types) and decreases (different types) and to start learning to read a pattern and make a scarf.
HOMEWORK between Class 3 and 4 will be working on their project scarf.
Class #4: Shared learning and help and knitting time.

Class size 1-6 students
The instructor will provide initial beginner supplies but participants are free to bring their own supplies. Provided supplies will include bamboo/wood needles in US 6, 7, 8 or 9 and cotton or acrylic yarn. Project yarn will also be provided but again students are welcome to bring their own.
This would make an excellent Christmas gift for anyone who wants to learn to knit.
