Wowzer it’s going to be another scorcher July we Wowzer it’s going to be another scorcher July weekend but it’s cool inside the Fiber Arts Store. Drop in and see what’s new, sit and knit, weave, spin or crochet or just stop and say HI! The Julindas are working today, Friday noon-4; hours are Thursday- Sunday noon - 4.
Mark your calendars and join us at the Fiber Arts Mark your calendars and join us at the Fiber Arts Store this Saturday, June 18, noon until 4 PM and learn about Natural Dyes with Kate Ellis. Kate will have a display of the process of dyeing with natural materials including samples of dye plants and the colors they give, indigo-dyed fabric swatches, eco printing with leaves and flowers, and a demonstration of bundle dying with flower petals. Free indigo seedlings will be given away while supplies last. 
 
Kate has been exploring natural dyes for at least 15 years and participates in natural dye workshops with internationally known master dyers. She has a BFA and MFA in studio art from Indiana University. She teaches workshops locally, most recently during an artist residency at McCormick’s Creek State Park.
Demonstrations are back at the Fiber Arts Store. T Demonstrations are back at the Fiber Arts Store. This Saturday, June 11, it’s Abstract Stitcheries with Lynne Gilliatt. She will be showing us her unique designs on hand-dyed wool fabric with floss, ribbons, and cords. Lynne started stitching during the pandemic and now has 4 wall hangings which will be on exhibit June 2023 at The Vault at Gallery Mortgage here in Bloomimgton. 
 You also will not want to miss dyeing with naturals Saturday, June 18.  Stay tuned!  The Fiber Arts Store is open Thursday-Sunday, noon until 4 PM.

In yesterday’s post I goofed! I mentioned the de In yesterday’s post I goofed! I mentioned the demo Saturday was embroidery but it is Amigarumi CROCHET.  Lauren Stoffers
 will be demonstrating basic crochet techniques and then adding aluminum scales to a Dragon Scale Dice Bag. Lauren learned to crochet two years ago as a hobby to stay busy during quarantine. She really enjoyed adding her own nerdy twist making animals, mythical creatures, and dice bags in a crochet style called Amigarumi.  The Fiber Arts Store is open today through Sunday, noon - 4 PM. Saturday is Amigarumi CROCHET. (There will be a quiz on pronunciation!) 😄

Magic in the making! It’s going to be raining to Magic in the making! It’s going to be raining today so why not stop by the Fiber Arts Store and watch the weaving demonstration on an 8 harness loom?  It’s always bright and sunny at the store; open today and tomorrow, Sunday, noon-4. Bonus! Weaving demo continues Sunday. Anyone want to guess how many towels will be woven?

Band Weaving with Cheryl Johnson! 
Cheryl will be demonstrating band weaving on an inkle loom and will have a display of bands woven on an inkle and card looms. Cheryl has been a weaver for over 40 years and loves to find new ways to create with fiber through weave structures, fiber variety, color theory, and many different techniques, providing her with never-ending inspiration for creativity.  See you tomorrow!  PS: The Fiber Arts store is open today, Friday the 13th. How lucky is that?!
