Learn with us

We offer many fiber arts learning opportunities, both to our members and the community at large. All of these activities take place at our Fiber Arts Store in the College Mall in Bloomington, Indiana.

Weekly Study Groups

We see each other weekly to grow our skills and our friendships. Weekly study groups are free and open to the public.

Monday night all craft study group, 6 to 8 pm
Thursday afternoon plarn group, 2 to 4 pm
Twice-monthly knitting group, first and third Sunday, 2 to 4 pm

Monthly Guild Meeting Programs

Our guild meetings are held on the third Monday of the month from September to May. Doors open at 6 pm and programs begin at 6:30. Meetings in June, July and August are informal, social get together for our members and do not have a program (we do not usually meet in December). Monthly guild meetings are free and open to the public.

Upcoming Programs
January will feature color and warmth in Norwegian coverlets. This will be a presentation by Laurann Gilbertson, chief curator at Vesterheim, the National Norwegian-American Museum and Folk Art School in Deborah, IA (www.vesterheim.org).

Classes

Our members offer several classes in the fiber arts. Each class has a fee. Classes are open to the public, although there is an additional charge to non-BSWG members. Our classes for winter and spring 2023 are listed here.

Workshops

From time to time, we offer special workshops highlighting a particular fiber art skill, often taught by a well-respected member of the regional or national community.
